My Two Hams

You gotta love this photo. It was taken during our little trip, notice the clouds threatening to ruin our day? Some other kids would just stand there next to each other and manage to crack a smile. Not my kids. They put on big smiles and strike a pose like they're on stage. It's times like this that I know part of me has rubbed off on them, and I can't stop smiling. Enjoy! :)

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

Well, we're back from our camping trip. Or maybe I should refer to it as the camping trip from HELL! I think maybe I jinxed myself by asking for nice weather. We got to our campground, it was a pretty nice facility and we had a beautiful spot overlooking Lake Whipporwhill. We set up our tent and stuff, did a little fishing, had dinner, and then the bad weather came. Rain, loads of it. Thunder, lightning, the works. We escaped in our vehicle like refugees and went to a shopping center to hang out while the weather passed. Then we went back and settled in for the night. It rained all night and the wind was howling. The kids were freaking out and I don't think we slept for more than an hour or two at a clip. Morning came and the forecast was for more rain. Billy and I were shot from the first night so we decided to bail and head for a hotel. You may call us wussies if you like, but we couldn't go through that again. It was a good thing too because the weather was worse the second night. All of our stuff was soaked and our screen house collapsed from the water and wind. Ants got into some of our stuff, even though we had it packed in totes with garbage bags around it. On a positive note, the hotel was awesome and we spent alot of time at Disney. So we got some lemons, but we made some kick ass lemonade! :)

Roughing It (Well kinda)

Our family is embarking on an adventure in camping. It's something my husband enjoys and he has wanted to do this for a long time. Well, we leave in a few days and although I've been camping before, I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing. We have a very nice tent, my husband and I practiced setting it up in our backyard. We have all the necessary gear to bring to make life bearable while we "become one with nature". I just hope our kids enjoy the experience and not dwell on the fact that there's no computer, no TV, no video games, and no BATHROOM. Stuff like that. There are toilet facilities with showers, but as Dorothy says "There's no place like home." Since we're staying near the Orlando area, we've decided to treat them to the Pirate and Princess Party at the Magic Kingdom. We're all dressing up and it should be a good time. I also hope the weather is kind to us, but I guess we'll just have to see what happens. Wish me luck! :)
